

Laurel Lynne Davies of Cumming, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3rd, 2014. Laurie was born on June 7, 1962 to the late Joan (Olejarczyk) and Donald Davies in Utica, New York and spent her childhood in nearby Whitesboro. She spent many years in Southern California enjoying the sun, sand and outdoor recreation while pursuing her career in the insurance industry. In 1994, Laurie embarked on a new journey and moved to Georgia to be with her future family. Once there she continued her insurance career and eventually followed her love of Lake Lanier by going into Real Estate. She enjoyed camping, running, rollerblading, mountain biking, kayaking, and traveling. She was also an avid reader and loved her dogs. Laurie is survived by her husband Mark Bouchane and his four children whom she considered her own: Meghann (Patrick) Rusert of Atlanta; Kristen (David) Roy of Hilton Head, SC; Matthew (Nicole) Bouchane of Atlanta; and Tyler Bouchane of Atlanta and her five grandchildren: Olivia and Amelia Roy and Cecilia, Fiona, and Will Rusert .Laurie is also survived by her sister Kathi (Jim) Van Slyke of Avondale , AZ and many brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. A lakeside service and celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at 12:15 on Saturday, February 8th at her home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Red Cross in Laurie’s honor.
