Louise was born on January 25, 1931, in Roanoke, Alabama, the elder daughter of Willie and Irene Lett. She graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta, Georgia, where she met and later married her sweetheart, John Thomas Wiley, with whom she shared 61 years of life. Together Louise and John raised three children, Amy, Joy, and John Jr. They share six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. Louise considered her family to be her greatest accomplishment.
Louise was a faithful Christian devoted to the church throughout her life. She was a member of West End Baptist Church, Columbia Drive Baptist Church, Briarlake Baptist Church, and Johns Creek Baptist Church. She had a gift for connecting with people, and her gracious spirit touched many lives.
In 1972, Louise joined Mary Kay Cosmetics and successfully became a Senior Director. She generously served her Mary Kay customers for 48 years and always remained a beloved member of the Mary Kay community.
Louise was artistic and creative. She enjoyed making sequined ornaments, beaded Christmas trees, decoupage pocketbooks, and hand crafted needlepoint. She loved collecting Barbie dolls, and she was an avid scrapbooker. She captured many of her life’s happy moments in these timeless treasures. Louise had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. She loved being with people, especially friends and family, yet she never met a stranger.
Louise is preceded in death, along with her parents, by her husband, John Wiley, and her sister Joyce Woodward. She is survived by her three children: daughters Amy Diaz and Joy Curnin, and son, John Wiley Jr. (Jill). She is survived by six grandchildren, Julia Diaz, Emily LeBlanc (Ryan), Jonathan Diaz (Elaina), Peter Curnin, Jack Wiley, and Josh Wiley. Also surviving her are three great-grandchildren, Allie and Colette LeBlanc and Alexandra Roilo-Diaz. Louise is also survived by niece Patrice Kohn (Dale), nephew Michael McCartan, and her devoted dog and constant companion Leo, as well as other nieces and cousins.
A family graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1. A Celebration of Life will take place at Johns Creek Baptist Church in the coming months, once the world becomes a safer and healthier place for friends and family to gather together and remember our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Louise.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
