Lula Lee Jordan Cowart, 86, of Alpharetta passed away February 12, 2015 after suffering with Alzheimer’s disease the past few years. Lula was a native Atlantan graduating from Girls High School in 1947 and retired as the Vice President of Accounting from the Perimeter branch of Bell South after a 40-year career.
Lula is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Ida Jordan of Atlanta; sisters, Virginia Jones and Ollie Smith; and brother Nesbit Jordan. She is survived by her husband, Wade Cowart of Collegedale, Tennessee; and four nieces, Sandra Smith Cushen (Bill) of Westminster, Maryland; Sunny Jordan Mathews (Jim) of Arden, North Carolina; Diane Jordan Evans (Jeff) of Cumming, Georgia; Denise Jordan Lane (Chris) of Milton, Georgia; and two nephews, Greg and Marc Jones; eleven great-nieces and nephews and several great-greats.
Lula was a longtime member of Briarcliff Baptist Church in Atlanta and an ardent volunteer with the Lenox Council of AT&T Pioneers.
The family will have a reception Sunday, February 15, 2015 beginning at noon with a celebration of life service immediately following at 1:30 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia.
