He was born June 24, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Charles Albert and Kathlyn (Emley) Foster. He married Lynn (Gudeman) Foster of Frankfurt, Indiana on March 20, 1982. They met in the United States Secret Service.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Graham Foster of Macon, Georgia and Alexander Bryce Foster of Decatur, Georgia; one daughter, Katherine Beth Foster of Brooklyn, New York; one sister, Charlyn Beth Robinson, one brother-in-law, Larry Mac Robinson, one nephew, Marc Andrew Robinson, one great-nephew, Brady Mac Robinson, all of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; and one grandchild, due to Alexander and his wife, Kathleen Clare Goodwin, April 26, 2019.
Mr. Foster graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, a U.S. Secret Service agent, and an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his time in the F.B.I., he studied Chinese at the Defense Language Institute. Later in life, he became a private polygraph examiner and investigator. He loved smoking a good cigar and drinking a Samuel Adams while cooking or watching football.
Family and close friends are invited to attend the funeral services at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on March 1, 2019. Family and close friends may follow a police escort that will take Mr. Foster to his final resting place (please arrive at Roswell Funeral Home at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076 at 7:45 A.M. for an 8:00 A.M. departure) or arrive at the Georgia National Cemetery for the service beginning promptly at 10 A.M. Because time at the cemetery will be limited, friends who wish to share memories of Mr. Foster may bring or send a note to the family. There will be no after-service reception.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Mr. Foster’s family asks that the next time you are sharing a meal or drink with your loved ones, you raise a glass in honor of Marc.
