She was the third child of Herman and Clara (Appold) Richert. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Walter and sister Eunice.
Marion’s two greatest loves were Jesus and her family. She had a deep and enduring devotion to the Lutheran Church and to Lutheran education, values that shaped her faith and life from an early age. She attended St. Stephen Lutheran Elementary School in Detroit and Detroit Lutheran High School, and carried those teachings with her throughout her life. She then went on to have a fulfilling career in nursing, committing her life to helping others in need.
Married to her husband, Jack Jordan, for 67 years, they loved to travel and spend time with their children — Jeffrey Jordan (Jodi), Julie Ogrinc (Joseph), Gregory Jordan (Joanne), and Sheri Jordan; their grandchildren — Emily Toms (Adam), Abigail Jordan (Patrick Collins), Jordan Ogrinc, Davis Jordan, Jack Jordan, and Henry Jordan; and were blessed with four great-grandchildren — Alexa-Grace and Liam Toms, and Anastasia and Oliver Trester.
Her greatest desire was “to see Jesus.” Her prayers have been answered, and all who loved her give thanks to God for His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, given to Marion in her baptism. She is home now. Praise be to God.
A service giving thanks to God for Marion and her eternal life with Him was held at Rivercliff Lutheran Church, where she was a member since 2014.
Memorials may be sent in her memory to: Lutheran High School Association – Michigan (lhsa.com).
