God gave us our precious daughter, Marissa Kelli Ann McGuire, on November 19, 1993. Tragically she was taken from us far too soon on, June 18, 2015, before she had a chance to blossom into her true potential.
Marissa was a beautiful, vivacious girl with a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. She was kind, generous, caring and had a special spot for those who had struggles in their lives. She never met a stranger and was loved by all that were fortunate enough to have known her. Marissa was deeply devoted to her family and loyal to her friends. As a little girl she loved shiny black shoes and dresses that would spin, as a young girl it was competing in gymnastics and acting our all the parts of her favorite Disney movies, as she got older she was on the neighborhood swim team and tennis teams and as she moved towards young adulthood she loved music and all kinds of movies but Disney movies remained her favorite.
Marissa is survived by her loving parents, Jim and Karen McGuire, her devoted brother, Dallas, her cherished sister, Madison, and her four legged buddy Pilgrim. She is also survived by her Grandma and Papa, Bob and Kay Bradley of Stillwater, OK; Grandmom and Grandad McGuire, John and Harriet McGuire of Athens, GA; Godparents Grammy and Pappy, Linda and Tony Fedorek of Pittsburg, PA and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Georgia, Oklahoma, England and Florida.
A private funeral Mass will be offered by her uncle, Fr. David McGuire, on June 26 at St. Brigid Catholic in Johns Creek, GA. Marissa will be laid to rest at a later date at the St. Brigid Columbarium.
Giving Marissa’s love of children, donations may be made in her honor at the St. Jude’s Children Hospital 800-805-5856 with a tribute #38460114.
God has Marissa in His keeping. We will forever have her in our hearts. Until we see you again our darling “Sugarpop”.
