A steadfast Baha’i for almost 50 years, Marty’s life was one of service to those around her. She served with unwavering commitment as a member of the Local Spiritual Assembly (LSA) and as an assistant to the Auxiliary Board, sharing wisdom, guidance, and compassion with all whom she encountered. She was a champion of unity and interfaith understanding, and she organized monthly devotional gatherings that brought together people of all faiths to pray and reflect.
In addition to her work within the Baha’i community, Marty volunteered in the broader Atlanta community. She assisted in the Sedgefield Apartments outreach program, and most recently, she volunteered with the Unity Church weekly food drive.
Her presence will be sorely missed, but her example of selfless service, spiritual devotion, and love for humanity will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Words are woefully inadequate to describe the impact Marty has had on everyone she touched in this world. For 90 years, she brought acceptance, light and unconditional love to so many and we are grateful to carry her with us for the rest of our lives.
While we struggle to work through such a tremendous loss, Marty was completely at peace surrounded by the love of her family and the strength of her Baha’i faith. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marty’s reach made us all part of her beloved family.
We love you and miss you
