It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew (Matt) Strach on November 8, 2024, at the age of 40, after a year-long treatment for a very difficult illness. Matt was born on March 16, 1984, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to his parents, Rick and Kelli Strach.
In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his wife, Barbara Domingues de Oliveira; his sister, Stephanie Strach-Williams; brother-in-law, Jason Williams; nieces Claire, Olive, and nephew Logan Strach-Williams; and his sister, Alison Strach. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his beloved pets, Gordie and Emma.
During his career, Matt was a multifaceted marketing professional involved in branding, creative content production, market research, public relations, copywriting, social media, and search engine optimization, to name just a few. He applied his considerable creative talents at his multinational workplace, BLEND, which delivered enterprise solutions in translation, localization, and voiceovers, helping businesses grow and thrive. Matt had an unparalleled ability to connect with people through his writing and creativity.
In his personal life, Matt enjoyed a wide range of activities, including hiking, biking, travel, sports, music—especially from the 1980s—movies, professional wrestling, comic books (particularly the Marvel universe), and other aspects of popular culture. He loved sharing these interests with his family and friends, always planning the next concert, trip, or sporting event. As a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia, Matt was an avid Bulldog fan, closely followed by the University of Michigan Wolverines. His zest for life was infectious, and he brought joy to everyone around him by including them in his diverse pursuits.
Having Matt in our lives has been one of our greatest joys. Losing our beloved Matt has been our greatest heartache. While Matt is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing he lives on in God's loving embrace, giving us healing and peace.
Rest in peace, Matt. You will be deeply missed, but you will remain in our hearts forever.
A funeral service and reception will be held on November 22nd at 10:30 AM, 2024, at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, located on 11330 Woodstock Road, Roswell, GA 30075, to celebrate Matt's life and his contributions to this world.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Matt’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/ or the Fulton County Humane Society at https://atlantahumane.org/
