

Muriel Hooper Kidd, 101, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away on May 27, 2016. Born to Archibald and Grace Hooper, Muriel, the oldest of five children, was raised in Newton Massachusetts and spent her childhood summers on Cape Cod. Muriel was married to and shared her life with John D. Kidd for more than 69 years, until his death in 2013. Accompanying John throughout his naval career, Muriel traveled to much of the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia always active in the Naval Officers Wives Club and the Red Cross Gray Ladies. She had a fantastic sense of humor and a kind soul, traits that allowed her to develop many lifetime friendships along the way. Most important to Muriel was her family and for that she provided a very loving happy home life. She and John spent their retirement years traveling, entertaining, and enjoying their family. Muriel is predeceased by her husband John and their son John D. Kidd Jr. She is survived by her children Burt Fletcher, Deborah F. Enright, Kimberly K. Michael, and Kevin R. Kidd as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Roswell Funeral Home on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
