Nancy McKelley Jordan, 68, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nancy Collier McKelley on September 1, 1953 to the late James Dudley & Clemmie Dement McKelley in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in Nashville in 1971 and from Peabody/Vanderbilt in 1978 with a degree in Special Education. She began her career working with a program through Peabody College to help in the early intervention of disabled children, ages 1 month to 5yrs old. Nancy met her husband, Neil, in the summer of 1967 as young teens where they dated off and on throughout high school and college and then married on New Years Eve in 1977.
They relocated to Charlotte, NC for Neil’s career with Yamaha, had their daughter, Katie in 1982 and later moved to Marietta, GA where they had their son, Taylor, in 1988. After Nancy’s kids were older she returned to work taking a job at Bank of America. Later she worked for a local artist using her natural talents where they hand painted designs on linens. She then worked for a short time with Babies Can’t Wait and volunteered for MUST ministries.
Nancy was a member of Roswell United Methodist Church for many years. Over the years she enjoyed playing tennis, long walks around the Whitfield neighborhood, painting and decorating, vacations with family and spending time with friends. She enjoyed the many international trips taken that husband Neil earned for them through his career with Yamaha.
Nancy’s proudest achievement are her two wonderful children, Katie and Taylor Jordan. She greatly supported all of their interests and hobbies from childhood through adulthood. She was also very excited and proud to become a Granny in January 2018 to Aislin Johanna Jordan.
Nancy was proceeded in death by her parents, James Dudley & Clemmie Dement McKelley, and sister Jane Dement McKelley. She is survived by her husband, Neil, daughter Katie, son Taylor (Maria) and granddaughter Aislin and her sister, Linda McKelley Gloyeske.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Ronald McDonald Charity in memory of Nancy Jordan:
