Nancy Harris Rose

June 30, 1944 - July 14, 2021

Surrounded by her family, Nancy Harris Rose, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Marietta, GA. She was born in New York City on June 30, 1944 and spent her childhood in Mt. Vernon, NY with her older sister, Susan Scherr and her parents Ralph and Esther Harris. Nancy graduated from Beaver College in Philadelphia, where during her senior year she met her husband Norman Rose. They were married on October 23, 1966 and have been married for 54 years.

Nancy worked as a copy editor and volunteer, and enjoyed being a Mom to her twin daughters, Jeanne and Rachel. She was known for her quiet smile and kind heart. She enjoyed creative writing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially the women in the Sisterhood of Temple Kehillat Chaim where Nancy enjoyed the book club and ran the Judaica gift shop. Nancy often said, “family is everything” and felt the happiest when everyone was together.

She will be remembered by her husband, Norman Rose, her daughters Jeanne Zawacki (Adam) and Rachel Rose (Wes), her sister Susan Scherr (Marty), her grandchildren Samantha and Eliza Zawacki and Hannah and Jacob Finger, and many more family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Esther Harris.

Funeral services will be held graveside on Sunday, July 18th at 10:30am at Green Lawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell GA 30075. Shiva services and reception immediately following the funeral at Temple Kehilliat Chaim, 1145 Green Street, Roswell GA 30075 in the social hall.
