Nelda was born in Duluth, Georgia and attended school at Hooper Renwick. She worked at Dick Lynott, Scientific Atlanta, North Spring School, and River Trail School. She volunteered at North Fulton Hospital for 20 years. Nelda was very active in her church activities and was on the Mother’s Board. She was a member of the Traveling Club and The Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Pete) Poole, and her son, Robert Poole, Jr.
She is survived by her children Juanita Poole, Raymond Poole, Sonia Threatt, Bryant Poole, Kirkland Poole and Mitchell Poole, as well as 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 siblings.
The visitation will be held at Roswell Funeral Home on Thursday, September 29, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 30, 2016, at 11:00 am at St. James United Methodist Church, 3000 Webb Bridge Road, Alpharetta, Georgia, 30009, with the interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Poole Family for memorialization in Nelda’s honor.
