Phyllis Dean Acree was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Charles Edgar Acree and Nelle Freeman Acree on September 26, 1933. She worked at Fort McPherson after high school where she met her husband, Max Brannon. They were married in 1952 just before he deployed to Korea. After moving to Roswell in the 1970’s, she and Max attended several churches in the area where she was an active choir member. Lebanon Baptist was Phyllis’ most recent church home. All who knew Phyllis, or Mema as the family calls her, knew her to be a sweet, gentle & loving lady. She was a faithful volunteer at North Fulton Regional Hospital, now known as WellStar North Fulton Medical Center. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Except for her relationship with the Lord, her family was the most important thing in this world to her.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Max Brannon, her mother, Nelle Acree, her father, Charles E. Acree, her brother, Charles Acree, her daughter, Bonnie Cook, and her son-in-law, Jim Cook.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Dean Brannon (Janice), grandchildren, David (Hannah) Cook, Julie Cook and Ashley Brannon, great-grandchildren, Jay and Lila Cook, and faithful friend of Bonnie’s & “adopted” daughter, Teresa Blanchard.
