

Raymond Lee Allen, aged 87, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. He was born on August 13, 1938, to Raymond Spencer Allen and Dororthy Lee Davis Allen in the city of Dallas, Texas. His family moved to the Vicksburg, MS area when he was two years old. He was raised in Mississippi and was very proud of that fact.
Ray was a beloved husband who was married for over 60 years. He was known for his military service and his dedication to the study of the Lord’s word. He was a faithful member at Grace Chapel Church of Christ and Woodstock Church of Christ where for many years he taught adult bible classes.
Throughout his life, Ray achieved many accomplishments during his 20-year military career. He reached the rank of Lt. Colonel. The highest medal that he received was a bronze star, but he had many other medals, commendations and citations. In addition, Ray was a Chief Operating Officer with a division of Lockheed before finishing his career as a professor, teaching business courses at Dekalb Technical College. He touched the lives of countless individuals through his class teachings at Grace Chapel and Woodstock Church of Christ.
Ray will be deeply missed by three brothers and their spouses: Richard (his twin) (Nora), Ronald (Dodie), and Grady (Paula). Further, Ray was loved by his sons and their wives, Frank (Laura), Troy (Mari) and Sean’s widow, Cynthia and his grandkids, Hailey, Tyler, Parker, Brooke, Jack, Cooper and Marcella and great grandkids, Carson and Jared, and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Allen and his son, Kenneth Sean Allen.
A celebration of life will be held on November 2, 2025, at 3:00PM at Roswell Funeral Home to celebrate Ray's life and honor his contributions to our world. A viewing will be conducted from 1 PM until 3 PM. In addition, there will be a viewing on November 10, 2025 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS from 1 PM until 2:45 PM. He will be buried with full military honors in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, also in Vicksburg at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to be given to Georgia Agape in memory of Ray Allen.
Ray's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his legacy will forever be cherished.
