Ray was born in Passaic, New Jersey and grew up with his brothers and sister on the family farm in Clifton, New Jersey. He attended Valparaiso University and later graduated from Newark College of Engineering with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He thoroughly enjoyed many years in technical sales with Dow Chemical Company, initially in New Jersey and then retired nearly 20 years ago while working in the Atlanta office. Ray loved people, loved to joke around and laugh, and never knew a stranger! He was always loved and respected by family, friends, customers and colleagues alike. Travel and golf were favorite past times for many years.
After his first wife, Anita, died unexpectedly at the age of 37, he devotedly and lovingly raised his two daughters with the help of his mother and remained a widower for 30 years. He always said how fortunate he was to find love a second time in his wife Janet, and they enjoyed their life together for the last 15 years despite his struggles with Parkinson’s disease. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
