Born June 29, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, he lived in Loda, Illinois, and Bradenton, Florida, before settling in Roswell. He worked at American Can Company until retiring in 1992. "Dick" as he was called by family and friends was a Sargent in the US army and is a Veteran of the Korean war.
Survivors include his spouse Dorothy Jansen, brother Bill Jansen, children John, Susan, Steve Jansen (daughter-in-law Sue), grand-children Michael, Kathy, Matt and Timmy Jansen.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell Georgia, 30076. Burial will be held immediately following the Celebration of Life service at Green Lawn Cemetery located on the same property.
