Richard Andrew Payne

Richard Andrew Payne passed away on October 10, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1955 in Montgomery, AL (at St. Margaret’s Hospital) to the late Richard Alan Payne and Marjorie Theodora Cornwell Payne (Young World).

Richard loved to love people and animals. He enjoyed cars, mechanics, and keeping up with current events. He was a district manager for Honda Motor Company for almost 30 years where he worked in several states.

He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, AL in 1973. He also attended AUM. Richard was a member of several honorary societies, including NYPUM, which was a youth program for underprivileged children. For his work with NYPUM he was awarded by Governor Ernie Fletcher and he was a Kentucky Colonel.

Richard is survived by his wife, Teresa Ann Durbin Payne; sister, Karolyn Payne Elliott; several cousins including, John Paul and Actor Charles Martinet; sisters-in-law, Lynn White (former wife of Matthew Payne who is now deceased), and Sandra Whittington, several nieces and nephews including, Martin Taylor Payne (Breanna), Katie Sneller Watkins (Joseph) of Moundville, AL, Lee Sneller (Trish) of Birmingham, AL, Christian Richards Elliott, Marjorie Taylor Payne, and Catherine Britton Elliott; and great-grandson, Gwideon of Montgomery, AL.
