Tommy was born on July 14, 1944, in Key West, Florida. A proud Conch, he graduated from Key West High School in 1962. During his high school years, he met the love of his life, Linda, and together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, and had two daughters, Monica and Michele.
Growing up Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, boating, fishing, spearfishing and boat racing as a member of the Key West Outboard Club. After obtaining his single engine pilot’s license he enjoyed flying around the skies of the Florida Keys.
He began his career with AT&T in 1964 in Key West and relocated several times over the course of his career before settling in Roswell, Georgia in 1986 as District Operations Manager. In 1990 he became Vice President of Operations for AT&T Tridom. He then worked as a Loaned Executive with AT&T/Atlanta Committee for the 1996 Olympic Games. After retiring from AT&T in 1997, he enjoyed working with Centex Homes, Providence Group and Ashton Woods in the construction management services.
Tommy enjoyed spending time with his wife, Linda, and their two dogs, Maggie and Murphy, as well as with his children and grandchildren and many friends. Throughout his lifetime, Tommy had many leisure time interests, which included competitive go-cart racing, being a lifelong Nascar fan, writing, love for music, playing the guitar, and spending time in his home workshop. He was a longtime member of the River Bend Gun Club in North Georgia where he helped run and organize numerous shooting competitions at the club, such as Smallbore Prone, Light Rifle, High Powered Rifle and Bull’s Eye Pistol. He also built The Jim Hinkle Smallbore Range. Tommy also competed nationally in the NRA Smallbore Prone series at Camp Perry in Ohio and was a member of the prestigious Black Hawk Rifle Club.
He would always say how family was the most important thing in this world, and he loved them very much. His extensive knowledge, his quick-witted sense of humor and his love for his family and friends will be forever missed by all those who knew him.
