

He was born on August 4, 1951, in Monroe, LA to Eri and Audie Battaglia. He graduated from St. Fredrick Catholic High School in 1970. He continued his education at Louisiana Tech, Faulkner University and Jones School of Law.
Throughout his life, Rick achieved many accomplishments. From 1984-1995, he was a Cobol Programmer for UNISYS. He worked on the Configuration and Maintenance System for the B1 Stealth Bomber in Huntsville, AL and was a co-writer of the Functional Description for the B2 Bomber. After being sworn into the Alabama Bar Association in 1995, he opened his law firm, Battaglia Law Office, and retired in 2022.
Rick loved the New Orleans Saints, playing poker, and most of all, his cherished family. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eri and Audie Battaglia and his in-laws Paul and Beverly Wheeler. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 37 years Candace, daughters Jenny (Webb) Watters and Katherine (Mark) Chiles, grandchildren Burke Watters (14), Sophie Chiles (9), Ethan Chiles (8) and his cousin Sharon Toney.
There will be a Visitation beginning at 6:00pm at Roswell Funeral Home Funeral on Wednesday 10/01/2025 for friends and loved one to gather and share memories. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2nd at 11 a.m. at Saint Brigid Catholic Church, 3400 Old Alabama Rd. Johns Creek GA. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell GA. Reception following the graveside service at Roswell Funeral Home on property.
