As a “child of the oil fields,” Rita grew up throughout Texas and Louisiana. It was in New Orleans that she met the love of her life, Hank Sivley. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 50 years of marriage.
Rita was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated herself to raising her children. Her family was the center of her world, and she deeply loved her husband and children. To her children, she was not only their hero, but also their best friend—a source of strength, wisdom, and unwavering love.
A woman of remarkable intelligence, Rita was very well read and could often be found with a book in hand. She was also an accomplished cook who could make just about anything. She had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed good wine, but perhaps one of her greatest joys was doting on her beloved dogs.
Rita was a woman of strong faith and tremendous strength. She faced life's challenges with determination and was a true fighter. Her love, wisdom, and strength will remain a lasting part of the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Rita is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Hank Sivley; her children, Wesley Sivley, Trey Sivley, and Kimberly Pittman; six grandchildren; and her siblings, Michael, J.D., and Sandi. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at Green Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice in Rita’s memory.
