

Lt. Col. Robert L. Brown, (Retired)1924-2010, 86, led an active and full life. He leaves one daughter, Cindy Stackhouse and spouse Hartley in Virginia, three sons, Chandler & spouse Laura in Duluth, GA, Robert Jr. and spouse Dohna in Douglasville, GA and Clay Sewell and spouse Carey in Thomasville, GA. 9 grandchildren; Amy, Kara, Clay, Jessie, Jenny, Megan, Travis, Sam and Caroline. His brother Jack Brown is in Arizona. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Nebraska. Bob, a resident in Roswell, GA is a war hero and a champion golfer with a love of friends and heart of gold. He served in WWII in the Army Air Corps, later the Air Force in Korean War and spent the next 20 years in Washington D.C. and South America. After the stellar military career he retired and continued working in the Electrical distribution Industry. He was instrumental in the formation of Southern Independent electrical Distributors, The Independent Electrical Distributors and finally organized and ran Greater Atlanta Electrical League. Retired again from that career to enjoy family and restart his golf career. It has been said "he has the prettiest swing in golf". After a fairly short illness he lost the battle peacefully in his sleep on June 17, at home. He was a patriot, a loving husband, father and grandfather and a wonderful friend. He is missed. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, June 23, at Mount Pisgah Methodist Church. Family arrangements are under the care of Roswell Funeral Home.
