Rob was a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, born on August 12, 1946 to William and Mary Butler. He met the love of his life, Sallie, after seeing her at the airport while dropping off his parents for a trip. It was not long after that they went on their first date, and 18 months later they were married. It was a marriage that would last for 45 years. They had two boys — Trent and Drake — and raised them in Roswell, where they lived for over 30 years.
Robert and Sallie were completely devoted to each other. They were best friends, travel partners, and a great team. Rob loved eating all of the amazing desserts Sallie made, and they loved to travel and explore new places. His love for Sallie was obvious in the way he looked at her and always made her his top priority.
Rob prided himself on his home. He could often be found outside working in the yard or tinkering around the house. He was a true jack-of-all-trades. Rob was known for his hard work, intelligence and meticulousness, which led to his success as a financial planner for many years. On weekends, you would find him watching Alabama (Drake’s alma mater) and Auburn (Trent’s alma mater) football, doing his best to stay as neutral as possible, and on Sundays, you would find him rooting on his beloved Pittsburg Steelers. In addition to his many talents and love for sports, he enjoyed photography and walking his two dogs, Snoop and Toby.
Robert was a great man who was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him, and he will forever be missed. He is irreplaceable.
Robert’s life will forever be cherished by his loving wife: Sallie Butler; his two sons, Drake Butler and Trent Butler (Krista).
