Robert (Bob) Geer, Jr., of Roswell, Ga., age 58, a happy, life-loving, fun-to-be with person with a host of friends, passed unexpectedly during the night of April 4 at his home in Roswell, Ga. He was the son of Robert, Sr., and Mary Boyle Geer. His mother preceded him in death.
Bob was born in Knoxville, Tn., Dec. 7, 1954. In his moves around the country with his parents, he lived in Evanston, Richmond, Larchmont, NY, St. Louis, Mo., Alexandria, Va. and Atlanta, Ga., where he graduated from St. Pius X High School. He did his undergraduate work at University of Georgia, Athens, and graduated from Georgia State University with a BS degree in Philosophy. His entire business life has been in Atlanta, principally in Health Care management with Nuesoft Technologies. He was a linguist, speaking French fluently, and taught English as a second language with International Language Institute. He and his Dad were both world travelers, and the family made over thirty trips to Europe together.
He was a supporter of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra through volunteering with the Encore group of ASA, working at Symphony Hall, at revenue venues like the Decorators Showcase House, and hosting business meetings of Encore at his home. He was also a regular attendee and supporter of the High Art Museum and The Steinway Society programs for gifted young pianists.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, Ga., on Sat., Apr. 13. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., and the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. Directions to reception will be available.
