OBITUARY
Robert Leslie Jacobs
December 22, 1931 – February 18, 2021
Robert (Bob) Leslie Jacobs, 89, passed away on 18 February 2021, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease and Covid-19. A native Atlantan, Bob attended Brown High School and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1953 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, Bob served two years in the US Army Signal Corps as a Lieutenant before taking a job at Lockheed. Bob left Lockheed and took a job at The Coca-Cola Company, where he had a distinguished 32 year career which included the development of two patents. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta at the time of his passing.
Bob loved life, enjoying the company of his many friends and family, building with his hands and competing in games, the Peachtree Road Race and on the golf course. A life-long Tech fan, he especially relished the times he got to spend on the Flats watching the Yellow Jackets.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents V.L. Jacobs and Clarice Wheeler Jacobs and his sister, Doris Wade Jacobs. He is survived by son Charles Leslie Jacobs of LaGrange GA, daughter Christina Jacobs Hayes of Boone NC; his former wife, Carole McGarity Jacobs and their two sons, Kevin (Denise), grandchildren Christopher and Erin of Ellicott City MD, and Michael (Stacey), grandson Walker of Milton, GA.
A memorial and celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to The First Tee Foundation, https://www.firsttee.org/ in Bob’s honor.

We will miss Bob in our Faith Class of FBA. He is a faithful member ; we kept in touch during his illness and treatment at Georgian Assisted Living. We think of the Bible verse that was close to Bob at times--"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21. We will hold dear good memories of Bob until we see him in our Eternal Home. Our prayers and Lord's Blessings to his Family.
In Christ Jesus, Jim & Mary J. Caddy
