Age 72
Roswell, GA
Deceased April 16, 2017
Bobbie was born in Brooklyn, NY but growing up never spent much time in one place. She attended High School in Carpinteria, CA followed by 2 years at Santa Barbara City College. Bobbie worked a few years as an Account Rep with General Telephone along with a few other jobs along the way.
Her focus was never on a professional career. Bobbie spent her entire life devoted to raising her children, taking care of her husband, household, grandchildren and many others who she left a lasting impact on during her 72 years on this earth. More than anything she took joy in caring for others, spending time at the beach, gardening, and building lasting memories with family and friends. She truly did enjoy making every day a beautiful day. She was a member of the Brookfield Women’s Club, Brookfield Garden Club, and Brookfield Book Club.
Bobbie wanted a small family service. She wished for it to be low profile and not extravagant. She wished to be above ground and at the place of her spouse and kids choosing. We have met those, her last wishes; witnessed by placement of her remains, in a boulder above ground, by flowing water, in Roswell, GA, where she lived the last 22 years of her life.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Richard Douglas; Sons, Teron Douglas (Anna Maria) and Chad Douglas (Amy); Five grand children.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Drake House at thedrakehouse.org. This is an organization that Bobbie supported and will help carry on her spirit helping those who are in desperate situations, and she would prefer these people be cared for over flowers.
