Mr. Ronald ‘Ron’ Bebernes, age 81, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Ron was born on December 28, 1937 in Cotesfield, Nebraska, son of the late Rudolph and Thelma Bebernes.
Following his high school graduation as class valedictorian, Ron attended the University of Nebraska as a merit scholar. While attending Nebraska, he received his bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Ron was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and was enrolled in the ROTC program. This led him to serve as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force following graduation. During his time in college he met the love of his life, Judy, who eventually went on to be his wife of 59 years. Once his service in the military was complete, Ron earned a Masters degree in Business Administration at Central Michigan University and began an extremely successful career with Styrofoam Products at Dow Chemical Company. He retired as their Southeast Regional Sales Manager in 1995. In his spare time, Ron found joy in playing golf, tennis, and traveling; however, his greatest joy came from being a father to his girls and grandfather to his many grandchildren. Ron was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Judy Bebernes; two daughters, Lorie Heinlen, husband Derek, of Melbourne, Florida, and Lynn Torres, husband Manny, of Woodstock, Georgia; one brother, Jerry Bebernes; six grandchildren, Andrew, Lindsey, Garrett, Sydney, Tatum, and Cooper; two great-grandchildren, Jolie and Crew.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Ron Bebernes will be held at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church.
