Mr. Ronald McCann (63) was born on June 20th, 1956 in Birmingham, Alabama. There he attended Ramsay High School. After high school, Mr. McCann enlisted in the Air Force and humbly served our country. He then settled in Cumming, Georgia where he worked at Lockheed Martin in Marietta. Throughout his life, Ronald enjoyed building model airplanes, watching sci-fi movies such as Godzilla and Star Trek, listening to Motown music, playing flight simulator and above all, loved the family dog that he called “Poochie”. Family and friends love to remember him as a kind hearted man who was willing to help anyone. He was a kid-at-heart but very protective over his family. Aviation was his passion and with that, he was a very hard-working man.
Ronald passed away on October 12th, 2019. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by many.
Ronald is preceded in death by his grandparents, Julia and Carl Nation; Parents, Sybil and William Patrick McCann Sr.; Sister, Norma Kay Hunt; and Aunt and Uncle, Margaret and Abraham Light.
Mr. McCann is survived by his daughter, LaShauna Gaddis (Jon Gaddis); Grandchildren, Justin Smith, Amira Gaddis, Kael Gaddis, and Avian Gaddis; Brother, Donald McCann (Carol McCann); Niece, Leanna McCann; and life-long friend, Samantha Farley.
The funeral services for Mr. Ronald McCann will be held at Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, Georgia on Sunday October 20th, 2019. The visitation will begin at 10:00am through 12:00pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 12:00pm through 1:00pm. A Graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday October 21st, 2019.
