Rose Adkins, age 72, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on January 5, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by service, resilience, and an unwavering spirit.
A devout Catholic, Rose loved Mother Mary deeply. She attended Saint Joseph Catholic School and Church in Marietta, Georgia, and remained a member of the church until her passing. Rose was also a proud graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1972. Following her graduation, she furthered her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Rose dedicated several years of her career to caring for others at Kennestone Hospital, where her natural inclination to protect and advocate for those in need found its true calling.
Rose was also a proud supporter and partial witness to her older son's journey as he wrote a book. Tragically, she left us too soon to see it through completion, but the book now serves as a beautiful bridge between two lives—saying goodbye to her and welcoming her son into a new chapter.
Rose was a woman of profound complexity and a true fighter at heart. While she often navigated life through a lens of hardship, her spirit was most radiant when she was standing up for those she loved. Whether in a hospital ward or in her private life, she possessed the rare, selfless quality of fighting fiercely for others, even when she struggled to fight for herself.
She was a marvel of resilience who defied the odds time and again, proving that her will was stronger than any boundary or limitation placed upon her. She lived life on her own terms and, in the end, rose unapologetically as a testament to her own unique endurance.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Adkins; her parents, Arthur and Marion Mosley; and her brother, Thomas Mosley.
She is survived and her legacy is carried on by her three children: Ralph, Elizabeth, and Michael. She was a proud grandmother to:
Kaylyn, Cameron, Alysha, Matthew, Mackenzie, Trinity, Makaela, Malakai, Mackenna, and Sadie. She also leaves behind her siblings, Jessie Mosley and Chris Stokes, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday, January 12, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home, located at 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.
A service to honor Rose’s life will be held at the same location on Tuesday, January 13, at 11:00 AM.
Interment will take place at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, where Rose will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Eddie.
