Rowena Bertha McIntire, 91, passed away February 22, 2021. She was born and raised on the farm of her parents, William Lloyd Maguire and Bertha (Busch) Maguire in Ottercreek Township, Jersey County, Illinois, December 15, 1929, the youngest of four children.
In 1947, she married Harry Cecil McIntire. Their union resulting in the birth of their son, Larry Cecil McIntire.
The family moved to the New Orleans, Louisiana area in 1956, then to Roswell, Georgia in 1985.
As a youth, she was occupied by the normal farm chores, attended the historic Hamilton School, and played the piano at her church.
As part of an airline family, she and Harry traveled frequently, both domestically and abroad. As a lifelong homemaker, she enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved her cats.
Rowena was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry; brother, Ralph (Mildred) Maguire; sisters: Maurita (Elmer) Harbour, and Verna (Jim) Wilson.
Survivors are her son Larry (Janet) McIntire; Granddaughters: Cheri (Denis) Olivier and Sandra (Melvin) Toledo, and great grandson, Hudson Chase Toledo.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Illinois at a later date. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Jerseyville, Illinois.
The family is grateful for the caregivers of Family Private Home Care, the staff of the Solana East Cobb and Agape Hospice.
