Our lives forever changed on October 19, 2026 when Rymon Leon Buice, 83, left this earthly home to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rymon was born on October 9, 1943, in Suwanee, Georgia, to the late Grady and Lucile Buice.
He spent his childhood wandering and working the farms and fields of McGinnis Ferry Road near the Chattahoochee River in Shakerag. As the next-to-youngest of nine kids, he worked and explored and adventured in that area with his siblings, countless cousins and friends who he loved and still talked about until his last weeks and days. He attended the late Warsaw Elementary School and was a graduate of Milton High School where he played football and met his wife of 61 years, Patricia Bennett.
Rymon was a devoted husband, father, and provider. As a young dad, he briefly worked as a fire fighter for Gwinnett County in Norcross. He worked with John Deere in Snellville for a short time before he became a dedicated tool grinder at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, from where he retired in 2001. He was quietly up at 4:00 AM every day to carpool with friends and colleagues to Marietta where he’d arrive at 6:00 AM and study his Bible until time to clock in.
After retiring from Lockheed, “BB” was known by his grandkids to drive a ‘hat truck’ for NAPA Auto Parts. But his even bigger post-retirement role would usually begin around October of every year when he’d bring out his red suit and shape up his white beard to fill the great shoes of Santa. And that was the perfect role for a person who embodied all the qualities and characteristics of Saint Nick. So many people that we will never know have pictures of Rymon with their kids and we will always treasure everyone of them.
Over the years, Rymon was active at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Philadelphia Baptist Church, Meadow Baptist Church and First Redeemer Church. At Philadelphia Baptist, he lead the Philadelphia choir and was Sunday School superintendant. He was always active in Sunday School with Patricia at every church they attended. But, one of his favorite activities at church was his time serving with There is Hope for the Hungry where he delivered food physically and spiritually to the hopeless rural areas of Georgia to provide food and spread the Gospel https://www.thereshopeforthehungry.org/
Rymon enjoyed fishing, gardening, and time with family. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs and always enjoyed a good meal with friends.
Rymon leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years, Patricia; daughters, Lawanna Burgess (Dave) and Sabrina McDowell (Scott); grandchildren, Tristan (Emily), Megan (Bryce), Kacey, Cambelle, and Will; great-grandchildren, Barrett, Bella, and Colter; brothers, Rayburn and Ronald (Deborah); mother-in-law, Lola Belle Bennett; brother-in-law, Danny Bennett (Kathie); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rymon's memory to There's Hope for the Hungry, https://thereshopeforthehungry.org/
