

Dr Saeid K. Fatemi of Roswell, Ga passed on January 5, 2017, born in Yazd, Iran; some of his major accomplishments include achieving a Ph.D. in Persian from Tehran University and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature. Dr. Saeid K. Fatemi honorable accomplishments include: being an eminent professor, a distinguish scholar, an outstanding researcher, prominent translator, proficient editor, renowned writer, powerful poet, eloquent orator above all an activist. He has been admired for his contributions to the field of Persian culture and literature as well as for his tireless lifelong struggles and efforts for liberty, humanity and solidarity. He published 9 books and more than 2000 literary and social articles, had numerous radio and television talks and gave hundreds of lectures all over the world. He was the editor-in-chief of Bakhtare Emruz and he had the honor of being Dr Hossein Fatemi's nephew. He was Dr Mossadegh's Special Secretary and personal translator in the Hague Tribunal. After the 1953 coup, which thwarted democracy in Iran, Dr Hossein Fatemi was executed by the ex-Shah and Dr Saeid Fatemi was imprisoned for his democratic ideas and his political activities against that regime for ten years. He was a man of honor and for him nothing was more important than his love of his land and his people. He was a lover of mankind and put himself at the service of human beings in general. People came first for him. His passion was to teach, write poems, literary and sociopolitical articles on Dr Mossadegh and Dr Fatemi and inform people of the happenings of that period and spend time with his wonderful and loyal friends and loving family who were by his side to the last minute. Dr. Saeid K. Fatemi is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Minoo Varzegar, his two daughters, Dr. Delaram Fatemi and Dr. Arezou Fatemi, and Three Grandchildren, Mr. Shayan Mortazavi, Miss Donna Bagheri, and Miss Tara Bagheri.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Saeid K. Fatemi will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM followed by a Burial Ceremony at Roswell Funeral Home and Green Lawn Cemetery at 950 Mansell Rd Roswell, GA 30076.
