Sally was born on September 17th, 1942. She graduated from Milton High School and became a Kindergarten teacher. She was a faithful member of Clear Springs Baptist Church where she served as a children’s teacher and choir member. She dedicated many years of her life serving in the decorating and floral ministry of her church.
Sally deeply loved and faithfully served her husband, Jimmy, and their two daughters, Susan and Karen. She was a proud Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She inspired her family to serve the Lord by setting a Godly example.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Carnace and Louvenia Garrettt, her brothers Alfred, Marcus, and Carrol Garrett. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Vaughan of 65 years, her brother Dow Garrett, daughters Susan Ahmad (Haissam) and Karen Cawthon (Kevin); grandchildren Ryan Ahmad (Farah), Chad Cawthon (Emily) and three great-grandchildren) Lucus, Emma, and Sami).
Though we grieve the loss of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and great grandmother, we rejoice in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she loved dearly. We have no doubt that the first words she heard in heaven were, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
