Born on April 23, 2021, Sami filled her family and the lives of those around her with a sweet joy, bright light, and a call to pursue a childlike faith and a love for Jesus Christ.
Princess Sami suffered much pain, but she lived bravely, fought valiantly, and shone radiantly with a refreshing joy and smiles that lit up every room and every heart of those who met her. She invited us into her favorite things: Tutus, princesses, unicorns, dancing jam sessions, adorning herself and others with bows, crowns and glittery jewels, singing, playing instruments, adventures in Target and at the park, racing through the neighborhood on her scooter or her pink car, taking on challenges and screaming, “I did it!!”, in a way that you have to pause to celebrate her victories with her; and when there was a road trip to Florida, she was on top of the world because she loves the beach, swimming for hours in the pool and hot tub, and “chasing sunshine”.The simplest outings became cherished adventures that will never be forgotten.
Though her time here was far too short, Sami’s life was full of love that spread immeasurably over many hearts and lives. She will be remembered, and her testimony of friendship with Jesus Christ has ignited in us the desire to find God and love like Jesus.
Sami is survived by her loving parents, Melisha Morris and Kurt Panton, her two brothers, Matthew and Joshua, her dear “grampi”, other grandparents, her aunts and uncles, a host of extended family members, and the body of Christ who prayed her through her journey. While we grieve her absence from this earth deeply, we take comfort in knowing that Sami is at peace, wrapped in eternal love. Sami is completely and forever healed. Her light will continue to shine. Keep stomping and dancing around on those tiptoes in heaven, leaving all the glitter wherever you tread. See you later, Sami!
