Sarah Elizabeth Upshaw Vaughan

Sarah was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law and friend. She was known for her compassion and love of family and friends.

She touched the lives of countless individuals through her leadership with Girl Scouts, her enjoyment in planning reunions, her work helping people with anxiety, and her deep interest in everyone she met. Sarah and Larry moved to assisted living in August and Sarah truly loved meeting new people and participating in all the activities available.

Sarah loved spending time in her family homeplace, Pine Log, traveling to National Parks and campgrounds throughout the country in the RV, enjoying the lake and mountains in North Georgia, working on puzzles, and most importantly being with family.

Sarah will be deeply missed by her husband of almost 69 years, Larry; her daughters, Lauren and Marla; her grandchildren, Haley and Wesley. She also leaves to cherish her memory: cousins, sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, located at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076, on January 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue on January 16, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.

A private committal service will be conducted at Pine Log Cemetery, 3497 Pine Log Road NE, Rydal, GA 30171, on January 16, 2026.

Sarah’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, but the gifts she has instilled in her family and friends will always be cherished.
