It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Pealor Burckhalter at the age of 76. She left this world early on May 12, 2026, peacefully and without pain in her bed due to complications of cancer.
Born on August 26, 1949 in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Lois Pealor. She graduated from Grady High School in 1967 and later became a paralegal. She spent the majority of her working years with General Electric retiring after 30+ years with the company.
She was a lively and gregarious woman who loved to knit, read and spend time with her neighbors and the lovely ladies of the Ramblin Roses chapter of the Red Hat Society. She loved travel, theme parks and her rescue dog and best friend Izadora, who spent more than 11 years by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathy Vinson. She is survived by her daughter and two grandchildren whom she loved deeply and doted on every chance she had.
Her Remembrance reception will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 11 am at Roswell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation or I will survive, Inc., an Atlanta Breast Cancer Awareness Organization that empowers individuals at higher risk for or affected by breast cancer through financial assistance, prevention education, and wellness programs.
