Shirley Ann Knighton

Shirley Ann Knighton, age 73, of Roswell, Georgia transitioned to her heavenly home with the Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was born February 1, 1947 in Bulacan, Philippines, the daughter of Samuel D. Allen and Lourdes Cruz.

Shirley had a deliberate spirit and a genuine love for people. She loved traveling, musicals and spending time with family. She was a business owner and had a passion for helping others succeed, especially families starting new lives in the United States. She was heavily involved in assisting nurses in the Filipino community, and she faithfully served with the Philippine Charity Foundation of Georgia for several years.

Shirley loved the Lord and her family. She met the love of her life, Chris, and was united in holy matrimony in 1970. This union of nearly 50 wonderful years was blessed with three loving children; Christine, John, and Nicole; and seven grandchildren.

Shirley was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her one of a kind spirit and gracious personality will forever be missed. Her beautiful life and influence will remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Her life will be cherished in the lives of her devoted husband Christopher Knighton, of Roswell, Georgia; her daughter Christine Peacock and grandchildren Isabelle(15) and Walker(9) Peacock of Baltimore; her son John and daughter-in-law Tiffany and grandchildren Jack(14), Will(13), Drew(10) and Ella(8) Knighton of Germantown, Tennessee; and her daughter Nicole and son-in-law Jeff and granddaughter Elora Grace(4) Villar of Anaheim Hills, California.

A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 10:30 am at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 11330 Woodstock Road, Roswell, Georgia 30075. Visitation will take place Sunday, March 8, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral mass at Green Lawn Cemetery, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076.
