Stasia was born October 9, 1946 in Bronx, New York to the late Margaret and Harold Rice.
Stasia attended LaGuardia Community College, where she received an Associate and Bachelor’s Degree in Education, all while devoting many years to Hamilton Madison Daycare Center. She later obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Adelphi University. Upon her completion, she began a career as a grade school teacher with the New York City Department of Education. Stasia retired as a School Administrator.
Stasia fell for the most amazing man, Nathan. They wed on August 20, 1967; enjoying more than 50 years of marriage. They were blessed to have and nurture five loving children: Seveda, Danielle, Stacy, Derrick, and Darrell. The love they shared created memories that will be remembered and cherished forever.
She was a very kind, generous, and tender soul. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and friend. Her compassion for life and love for people allowed her to create a special place in her heart, personalizing each relationship she had with anyone she met. A phenomenal woman she was, leaving an everlasting impact on their lives. Through the years, Stasia continuously volunteered her time as a cheerleading, little league, and girls on the run coach. Also, as a longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church, she volunteered for multiple ministries including the Women & Senior Choir, assisted with child care on Sundays, bible school, Caring Talented Senior Soldiers(CTTS). She loved arts& crafts; she was known for decorating pens with flowers as a special touch to give to others as a token of love. Her family and friends will forever remember her for her caring and loving spirit. Stasia was such a joy to be around.
Along with her Parents, Stasia Elizabeth Dennison is preceded in death by her sister, Selena Adams; brothers: Harold and Kevin Rice.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan Dennison; children: Seveda Dennison, Danielle Wright, Stacy Dennison, Derrick Dennison, and Darrell Dennison; grandchildren: Christopher, Nia, Denaya, Dayquan, Derrick, E’moni, Ceazar, & Aniyah Dennison, Gus & Justin Newsome, and Robert & Dominique Wright; great- grandchild, Kamari Dennison; sister, Pamela Randolph; brother, Darryl King; and a host of family and friends.
