Thelma June Hastings

June was born in Linton, Indiana on December 23, 1941, a daughter to Ruth and Carl Maybaugh.

June was married to her husband and high school classmate, Steven Chad Hastings, for 35 years. Her husband’s Naval career and her job as a flight attendant with United Airlines, allowed June to fulfill her love of travel. After retiring, June and Steve moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be close to their daughter, son-in-law and precious grandchildren. June was always happiest when spending time with her family. Never one to be idle, June enjoyed volunteering, was active in her small group at North Point Community Church, loved playing tennis, and enthusiastically took up yoga in her 70’s. June was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend; she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Hastings. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jill and James Howgate of Alpharetta, grandsons Carson and Holden Howgate, her brother Jon Maybaugh, and her nieces Carrie Kellogg and Julie Mergl.

June’s family will be celebrating her life at a later date.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests donations be made in honor of June’s life to the Foster Care Support Foundation at 115 Mansell Place Roswell, GA 30076.
