Mrs. Tracy Minchew Todd, age 49, of Dunwoody, Georgia entered through the triumphant gateway to glory into the arms of her Savior, seeing Him face to face on Saturday morning, September 30, 2017. She became a hero and inspiration to many after a nearly 5-year, courageous battle with stomach cancer.
Tracy was born in 1968, in Washington, DC, but lived most of her life in Atlanta, GA. She and Jack lived in North Carolina and South Carolina between 1990 and 2003, before returning to Atlanta.
Growing up, Tracy was an excellent student, a model, and a state-ranked tennis player in Georgia. She attended Crestwood high school and then the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she was a member of the Varsity Tennis Team during her freshman and part of her sophomore years. She was a member and held several officer positions with the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree in 1990. She was a finalist and winner of several architectural design competitions while at Georgia Tech.
In her early professional career, she worked as an architect, a special project coordinator for an architectural hardware company, and an office manager and interior designer for an interior design firm. After focusing on raising her three children, she started a new professional career in 2010, as a licensed Realtor with Keller Williams.
Tracy loved to read, sew, and serve others. She was creative and had a natural talent for envisioning how a home, room, or other architectural space could be redesigned and improved. She was full of life, energy, and inspired and lifted up those around her. She was a loving wife, a fiercely loyal friend, and a champion and encourager of her three children.
Tracy was the eldest daughter of the late James Ray and Sharon Lee Minchew, and was preceded in death by her birth-father, Lyle Gene Langford, and many other aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Tracy is survived by her loving husband Jack Dodson Todd of 27 years, as well as her three beautiful children and daughter-in-law, Ryan Wesley and Danielle Estes Todd, Harrison Brooks Todd, and Leah Kathryn Todd; she is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Aimee and James Stevens and their children Wyatt and Allison Stevens; her in-laws, Henry and Jane Todd; her brother-in-law Marcus Todd and his sons Henry and Lewis Todd; her uncle and aunt Fred and Mary Lou Vonier and their children Jennifer Vonier Mason and Jay Vonier; lifelong family friends Pat and Glenda Rogers, as well as a multitude of cousins and extended family. She is also survived by a life time of devoted and loyal friends, and the one and only “Team Tracy,” which stood by and supported Tracy throughout her battle with cancer and to whom she and her family will forever be deeply indebted.
Her family would also like to give a special heartfelt thank you and acknowledgment to Tracy's Surgical Oncologist, Dr. Kenneth Cardona (“Uncle Ken”), and to all of the other doctors, nurses, and staff at Emory University who truly became a part of our family over the last five years. Dr. Cardona never lost faith in Tracy and helped her fight and survive for many years beyond what was expected. God worked through Uncle Ken and the entire Emory team showing that miracles do happen, proving that God is greater than any statistic and does answer prayer, and taking cancer treatments into new, uncharted territory.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Roswell Funeral Home at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell GA 30076 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Tracy will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Dunwoody Community Church at 2250 Dunwoody Club Drive, Atlanta GA 30350, and will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Jansen at Noon, with a reception at the church immediately following. There will be no funeral procession. Interment will be back at the Green Lawn Cemetery behind Roswell Funeral Home at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request contributions be made to KW Cares charity in Tracy's name. KW Cares is a charity affiliated with her employer, Keller Williams, that provides support and assistance to employees and their families who face serious illness or sudden emergencies. KW Cares stood by Tracy throughout her fight with cancer. Donations can be made directly at: www.donatekwc.org
