Vickii Elaine Jones Mills was born in Shelby County, Memphis, Tennessee on October 2, 1959 to Mildred Harrington Jones and the late Rufus Jones. As the fifth born of five children… she was not alone. To the parent’s surprise, she was the last twin born of a second set of twins.
Vickii graduated from Hamilton High School in 1977 and completed her Associates Degree from Shelby State Community College, Memphis, Tennessee and also attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. While studying at the University of Tennessee, she met and married the love of her life, Michael (Tony) Mills. To their union, they have one child, Collin Michael Mills.
Vickii was a sweet spirited, kind and loving, self-sacrificing, even temped, doting wife and mother, thoughtful and giving person and never complained. She loved helping others to achieve their goals. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. Vickii, Tony, and Collin attended Metro Cathedral with leadership from Bishop Flynn Johnson, later attending Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church under the leadership of Dr. Pastor Brian E. Crute up until her illness.
Vickii’s career in banking started in Tifton, GA and later moved to the Metro Atlanta Area where she worked as a Teller and Manager at Mutual Federal Saving Bank and a Loan Officer for Truist Bank.
On Monday, January 17, 2022, Vickii transitioned from this life. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2nd Corinthians 5:8. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: her husband, Michael (Tony) Mills; her loving son, Collin M. Mills; her mother, Mildred J. Lee; two sisters, Bridgette J. Cobb and Rachelle J. Taylor; two brothers, Rudy H. Jones (Yvette) and her devoted “twin brother” Victor E. Jones; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
