

Ms. Virginia ‘Ginger’ Griffith Weakes, age 82, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022. Ginger was born on August 4, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee, a daughter to the late David and Virginia Griffith.
Ginger brought great joy to countless people with her outgoing personality and cheerful heart. Throughout her entire life there was one constant that never wavered was her strong devoted love for her children. They came first and foremost in everything she said and did. She was a very stylish lady that was always dressed to the nines. Ginger’s love for fashion allowed her to have a very successful career as a Women’s Retail Buyer. Uprooting her life and moving to the next city was nothing foreign to Ginger, as her career carried her all over the Southeast gaining professional growth along the way. Following her career, she decided to settle down and move back to Atlanta to be closer to her daughter, Helen. Ginger became a devoted member of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church where she attended the Wednesday Women’s Bible Study every week. Her love for her Savior grew tremendously since moving to Atlanta and it was evident by her radiating joy. Ginger was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Ginger is preceded in death by her siblings, Nancy Tooke and David Griffith, and a sister-in-law Betty Griffith.
Ginger is survived by her three children, Helen Caudill (Darrell), Edward Braswell (Allison), and Charles Braswell (Barbara); six grandchildren, Michael Brown, Lindsey Brown, Lizzie O’Rourke (Kyle), Kat Campbell (Wirth), Laura Foster (Chris), and Charlie Braswell; three great grandchildren, Ian and Ellie O’Rourke and Chandler Campbell; one brother, Harry Griffith (Emily); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life honoring Ms. Ginger Weakes will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 1:00pm in the Sanctuary of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Wood officiating. A reception will follow after the service.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church, 2850 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, Georgia 30022.
