At the age of 83, Vivian Marie Raveling passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, in Portland, Oregon. Her son Mark and best friend Janet were by her side. Vivian was predeceased by her grandmother Verleda (Heidi) Jones and her parents Curtis and Verna James. She is survived by her son Mark Raveling and many friends who are scattered across the country.
Vivian was blessed to live a long life filled with higher education and interesting careers that covered a variety of industries which also allowed her to indulge in her passions for world travel while fostering her love of art, photography and music.
Vivian was known for her intelligence & wit, her artistic abilities, her support of others, and her engaging personality and laughter, so much laughter. Friends tell stories of her many kindnesses. Vivian wouldn’t offer just sympathy or advice, she would actually show up.
