

Wayne Garner Holbrook, age 57, of Johns Creek, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2020. He was born on October 21, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio but grew up in Jackson, Tennessee. He was the son of Charles David Holbrook and Patricia Burke Holbrook.
He graduated from Jackson Central Merry High School and was a proud Eagle Scout. He started his college career at Georgia Tech, but graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago with a degree in economics. Georgia Tech remained dear to his heart. His finance career began by being a runner at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, later becoming a trader under Steve Fossett. In 1991, he moved to Atlanta to join Invesco. In 1995, he met the love of his life, Kellie, and they were married that year.
He attended Georgia State University and in 1997 and received his Master of Business Administration. He was a man of many gifts and talents. His wife was his first priority and they shared many memories together.
Wayne enjoyed his years in several positions in financial management, Including positions at Tactical Allocation Group, LLC from February 2008 to December 2008; Partner, COO, Chief Compliance Officer with Cornerstone Investment from January 2009 to May 2017; Chief Operating Officer with Gratus Capital, LLC from May of 2017- July of 2019.
Throughout his life, he was a huge fan of sports and loved his dogs. He raised and worked with Clumber Spaniels for more than 20 years. He was currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Clumber Spaniel Health Foundation, Co-Founder, Board and Finance Committee Member at the Atlanta Kennel Club Foundation.
Wayne will be always be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother and uncle. He loved his family. His legacy and influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife: Kellie Cannon Holbrook; parents, Charles David Holbrook and Patricia Holbrook; brother, Donald B. Holbrook (Leigh); sister Elaine Arbus (Ira); sister-in-law, Julie Hudson (Sam); nieces, Rachel Corley, Courtney Holbrook, Taylor Holbrook, and Sarai Arbus; nephews, Si Corley and David Arbus; Clumber Spaniels, Hobson, Carlie, Charlotte, and Shamu; and many friends.
