William "Bill" Schmidt, 89, of Alpharetta, passed away on June 25, 2011. Bill served in WWII as a PFC in the Army. He was with the 101st Airborne Division where he carried out his duties as a Medical Aide Man and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte, of 50 years. He is survived by his loving daughter and son in law, Lorraine and Douglas Krug. Bill is also survived by 3 granddaughters: Ryan Krug and Kaitlin Krug of Atlanta, GA and Courtney (George) Green of Nashville, TN. A private family service will be held at a later date.
