Willie Jo Stephens Strevel

Willie Jo Strevel of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2014 at 88 years of age. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 5, 1926. She worked for Western Union as a Telegraph Operator for four years and for the Merit System as an Examiner for seventeen years. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church for seventy years. She married William Strevel on June 9, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Columbus Strevel; sisters Christine, Annie Rose, and Hazel; and stepsons Bill Jr., Mike and Doug Strevel. She is survived by her sister Virginia Rankin and brother-in-law Kenneth Rankin of Jacksonville, Florida; son Eric and daughter-in-law Sharon Strevel of Woodstock, Georgia; daughter-in-laws Susan Barringer of Cumming, GA, Kathy Strevel of Falkner, Mississippi and Peggy Strevel of Newborn, GA; grandchildren Chris Strevel, Deanna McCallum, Matt Strevel, Melanie Hodges, Andrew Strevel, Jacob Strevel, Anna Easterling, Joseph Strevel, Laura McCoy, Katie Kuntz, Ann Marie Strevel, Lauren Strevel, Alex Strevel, and Daniel Strevel and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, May 4th at Roswell Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 5th at 2:00 at Roswell Funeral Home with interment to follow.
