

Chuck Kennedy was born on the actual birthday of Mickey Mouse, November 18, 1928 and he lived 88 years and died on November 25th and followed his Beloved Lord onto the path to Paradise. He was devoted to his faith and the rosary which he said every day.
Chuck was born in Phoenix, Ariz. and came to L.A. as a freshman and entered Loyola High School. He loved Loyola. He got into drama and loved poetry. He recited Gunga Din by Rudyard Kipling with great gusto. He recited the poetry of Robert Service, Dangerous Dan McGrew and The Cremation of Sam McGee and many others.
Chuck graduated from Loyola University before there were girls on the hill. They had to rely on the girls from Immaculate Heart in Hollywood. He married Millicent Russell, the love of his life. They were married for 65 years this last September.
He worked for the LA Times Newspaper and then Chrysler Corporation. In 1961 he became a stockbroker and wrote articles for the Whittier Newspaper. In 1963 he went to work in the family business of Motor Parts Depot Automotive Parts Supply on Pico Blvd. He closed the doors of MPD in 1989 and in 1993 began Auto Extra here in Whittier. Auto Extra was a buying group for small automotive warehouses throughout the United States. He was a great success in this business. He wrote for the Automotive Booster Magazine an article called RPM ( Real Personal Motivation) monthly for over a decade. He was also active in the Sheriff’s Auxiliary as treasurer. Whereever he went he made friends.
He raised one daughter, Kathie and 5 sons, Chuck, Jr, Kevin, Tim, Matt and Stephen who were all at his bedside the last week of his life. All of them along with his 15 grandchildren, two of which are already in Heaven and one great grandchild will greatly miss him.
