My prayers are with you. She is at least with Tito Domeng now and Sonny...I will never forget Tita Ely for the good way she was behind all of us, my sisters during our hard young times...just take care of yourselves.

Rest in peace Mama.  Our Mom has finally joined her creator in heaven, reuniting with our Papa and Bro Sonny Jr. We miss them all dearly in our hearts.  For all our friends and family who have given precious time to write and post sincere condolences, offered prayers and masses, said kind encouraging words to keep us all strong and all those who in their own ways condoled and sympathized with our family...from our hearts we say...thank you!!

To those who do not know this, Tita Ely is my Mom's older sister.  Tito Doming, Tita Ely's husband is my Dad's older brother. In short, the two brothers married the two sisters. And when they lived in Manila, our homes were in the same street right across from each other.  It was very easy for uds to plan family events together. Birthdays and Christmases were always happy occasions.

Going back to Cristy's story.  I do remember how the Mercado children came frequently to Tita Ely and Tito Doming's house.  Cristy and I were the same age and we love to hang together when they come to Tita Ely's house.

On one of thse summer vacations, Cristy told Tita Ely we wanted to spend the night together.  Tita Ely told us we can stay in Freddie's room.  We were so happy.  We talked all night.  Cristy said she thinks Freddie probably ended up sleeping in Sonny's room.  That's Tita Ely for you. If something is important for you, she makes it happen.

Tita Ely, thank you for your love and for giving us happy memories when we were kids.  You will always have a special place in our hearts.

Some of you may not know that Tita Ely is my Godmother, both at my baptism and at our wedding. I consider her as my second Mom especially when my Mama died when I was 11 years old.  I used to go to her home every summer vacation to be with her and my cousins. That's how close I am with them.

When the family migrated here in the U.S., communication with them stopped.  But one day, I was surprised to get a call from Tita Ely in Manila.  She asked me to go to her house and stay overnight to keep her and Tito Doming company.

I came after work. We had a nice chat together, eating chips and a lot of other food she kept on offering me all night, till the wee hours of the morning.  I went to work the next day tired and sleepy but that's okay.  That's Tita Ely. I did that for the next 2 days but I did like doing it for them.  Love her as well as the whole family. If it weren't for them I wouldn't be here to make a new life for myself and my family.  It was Tita Ely who persuaded me to stay and make my life here in America, and I'm so happy that I made the right decision.

To my family here in America, the de Guzmans, thank you so much.  I love you all!

Tiya Ely was a very gracious and loving person.

I will never forget that she looked after me when I was on my first year of college.  It was a difficult year for me because it was my first time to be away from my parents. She invited me to stay in their house in Balut, since Susan, Baby and Minnie were all studying at the College of the Holy Spirit, where I also studied.

I was so happy that I was able to return the favor when she came and visited us in France in 1989 to be with my parents who were also visiting us at the time. Chris, my husband who loved Tiya Ely, took all of us as far as Lourdes.  She enjoyed her stay, in spite of my husband who is a joker, who drove us to the Pyrenees, up high in the mountains between France and Spain, knowing she was so scared of heights.

Nevertheless, we had so much fun and I will always remember her as a jolly person.

In behalf of our "BIG" GONZALES FAMILY, we are bidding goodbye to you, Tiya Ely.  We love you very much. May you Rest In Peace.

Thank you Momsie for being the perfect grandmother to me and all your grandchildren.  You personally personally took care of me, Cay and Tina when we were young.  I vividly remember you making us your trademark bread with butter and sugar and making sure we always kept up with our "studies".  You led us in prayer the last time I was there, and always taught us that God is most important in our lives.
I'm so glad we got to go to Vegas and spend Christmas together one last time.  I'm so glad I ave you the glow in the dark rosary when I was in first grade.  It never left your side and you always thanked me for giving it to you every time I saw you.

Thank you Momsie for raising your children so well.We all felt your love and values through them and we will all never forget that our loving family would not be here without you.  Please say hi to my Dad, Tito Sonny, and Popsie for me and please continue to watch over us as you always have.  Thank you Momsie, we will always love you.

Good afternoon! For those who do not know me, I'm Dominador also known as Jon and I am Eliza's eledest and self-proclaimed favorite grandchild.  On behalf of my family we thank each of you for your time and effort in help us pay respect to our beloved Momsie.  Some of you knew her as Ely, Tia Ely, or simply Eliza.  However. to many, especially to me she was Momsie.  She must be so happy and proud you are all here.  So thank you.

I'm sure she is smiling and thanking us for the prayers, all the arrangements, and seeing everyone she cares for dressed for the occasion- because she loved those things so much.  I ask myself...what will I miss most about Momsie?  How do I choose? There was just so many things and memories.  Her grand smile, laughs, kisses and also the pride in her eyes.  For me, it was her actions that spoke volumes of how she loved and cared for us simply because she knew what was important ESPECIALLY at the time of need.

When my father Dominador Jr known as Sonny who was Momsie's eldest son was diagnosed with lung cancer, she knew supporting and loving my mother and siblings is all she can do because her own son would hae asked for it. She unselfishly lived with us taking care of everything she could until we established a new lifestyle and routine without my Papa.  She could have been anywhere else doing anything else but instead lived with us making sure we were safe supporting ourselves.

More recently in 2012 at the age 92 she blessed me and my wife by flying all the way from California to NY to volunteer as a lecturer for my church wedding.  Despie her tender age and condition, she knew how important that was for us.  In a heartbeat she proudlyaccepted the role and witnessed the4 smile I had.  She would have done it a million tunes over again to see that smile of mine again.

Wish we knew what Momsie would say right now to get us through the grief we are feeling at this very moment.  However, I have a rule for today. I like rules.  Let's not be sad today, but please be happy. She is pain free, she is dancing, kissing, smiling, telling stories, laughing with the other two Dominadors before me who were her late husband and elsdest son, my Ninong Jeff, and many others.  Everyone, we had our time on earth with her, now those with her now, they can hae their time, and that's fair.

She made us happy in all capacities as agreat mother,wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and great friend.

Momsie, we are thankful, grateful and we are simply better because of your love and joy.  We all thank you, love you and will miss you dearly.  You will always be in our hearts and we will see you sometime again.  In the meantime, be our guardian angel at all times. Love you so much Momsie.  God bless you. Amen
