

Born October 11, 1920, Lydia Acquaria Rogel passed away in her home peacefully on Saturday, February 20th 2016, at the age of ninety-five years old. Lydia will be remembered as a caring, humble, strong and devout Catholic woman.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio; she moved here to the Los Angeles area in the late 1940s where she met and married her loving husband of 31 years, Joseph Rogel. After marrying, Lydia and Joseph made their home in Covina, CA. where they lived for thirty-plus years. After her husband passed away, Lydia continued to reside in Covina where she learned to drive at the age of sixty. She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Covina, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Altar Society and she was a Third Order Carmelite. She was an extremely compassionate woman who often visited and prayed with the elderly in nursing homes throughout the Covina area.
In 2000, Lydia moved to Capistrano Beach where she resided for about eleven years before eventually moving to Escondido, CA. where she lived for the past seven years.
Lydia was one of three sisters from her Italian immigrant parents, Vincente and Lucia Marianella. She was a loving mother to her four children, a grandmother to ten grandchildren and a great-grandmother to fifteen great-grandchildren.
Lydia is survived by three daughters: Diane (Gary) Rubenstein, Donna (Ernie) Oeland, Joanne (David) Downing and one son: Michael (Karen) Rogel.
Rest in peace Mom, we love you and will remember you always in our hearts and in our souls.
