Born on January 6, 1944, to Angelita and Victor Geli in Manila, Philippines, Melchor was the oldest of ten children. He received a B.A. in Engineering from Feati University and continued his studies at the University of Cairo in Egypt. With his sweetheart and wife of almost 40 years, Helen Geli, he lived and worked in the Philippines, Nigeria and the United States of America. With their four children, Helen and Mel travelled the world to places like Switzerland, Japan, France and Jerusalem. When Melchor retired in 2000, he was the Chief Engineer of an aerospace company in California. Melchor loved spending time with his family and was known for being the patriarch of the Geli family and a loving and patient peacemaker that would help keep the family together. He believed in education, hard work and pursuing dreams. Melchor instilled these values in his four children who will forever be grateful for the sacrifices he made to provide them with a better life and more opportunities.
Melchor held many titles which included husband, father, grandfather, son, Kuya, Ninong, Tito and friend. He wore all these titles well and will be greatly missed by the many people who knew him.
Melchor is survived by his wife; children: Jo Ann and Aric Davison, Diana Geli, Kristine Geli and Michael Geli; and his two grandchildren: Barrett and Christopher Davison.
Thank you,
