October 19, 1929 – May 10, 2022
IN THE CARE OF
Lombard Funeral Home
Alice Halloran, long-time resident of Princeton, MA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 10th in Rancho Cordova, CA. She was 92 years old.
Alice was born in Worcester on Oct. 19, 1929, the only daughter of Nils and Beatrice Premo Vendt. She moved to Princeton in 1953 and would live there for more than 65 years, serving as a pillar of the community until moving to live with her son in California in 2017.
Alice was a passionate baker; she competed in local baking contests and loved helping neighbors in need. She spent much time researching genealogy, playing scrabble, crossword puzzles, reading, and participating in church activities at Prince of Peace Parish.
Alice worked at the Princeton Center school, local restaurants, Nabisco Company, Hebert Candy Mansion and Weyerhaeuser.
Her most distinguishing characteristic was the ability to rebuild and keep family together following tragedy. In 1963 she lost her first husband Clarence (Bud) Cusson to a tragic parachuting accident, surviving lean years with her children and later, she reconnected with and married her childhood boyfriend Robert Halloran. Her son Michael Cusson tragically passed in 1985, and again she persevered, taking college writing classes, reading to the blind at a local radio station, and submitting freelance articles to the Telegram and other publications.
When her home in Princeton was burned, requiring extensive yearlong repairs, she again persevered to return a year later.
She was predeceased by her first husband Bud, her second husband Robert, and her son Michael. She is survived by her children Steven Cusson, Allison Blanchard and Timothy Halloran, stepson Robert Jr., their spouses, and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Prince of Peace Parish in Princeton, MA on June 11, 2022, and internment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
